We created a series of highly detailed illustrations for Bulgaria’s first Neolithic Museum, inspired by a 7,000-year-old settlement near Chavdar. This project challenged us in the best way—months of research into architecture, tools, farming, and clothing helped us bring the village to life across all four seasons. We were also involved in shaping the color coding of the museum walls, so the space could fully complement the atmosphere of our work.

We explored how Neolithic people gradually moved across Europe and Asia, creating new communities and adapting to different landscapes along the way. Through the artwork, we show the evolution of their daily lives—from building different types of homes to shaping settlements connected to nature, farming, and survival. We also wanted to capture how the environment itself changed across the continent, with shifting landscapes, climates, and vegetation becoming part of the story.

With limited archaeological evidence—especially regarding garments—we carefully balanced historical accuracy with thoughtful interpretation, honoring the ingenuity, rituals, and everyday lives of these early communities.
The 10-meter illustration follows the village across all four seasons, capturing the rhythm of Neolithic life in rich detail. From building homes and shaping pottery to fishing, farming, cooking, and shared daily routines, each scene was deeply researched to create a living, immersive world that feels both historical and deeply human.

In this room, we explore the process behind Neolithic ceramics—from shaping and decorating the vessels to the different types of pottery discovered in the village. The space also follows the stages of building a home during the Neolithic era, revealing the time, skill, and collective effort needed to create these early settlements. Together, these scenes reflect how deeply everyday life was connected to craft, survival, and community.

We created more than 100 characters, each capturing moments from everyday Neolithic life—children playing, women carrying water, pregnant figures, people cooking, crafting, farming, and men hunting. We wanted the scenes to feel alive and deeply human, showing the quiet rhythm of a growing community.
Because there is limited archaeological evidence about the clothing of the period, we approached the garments with simplicity and care, staying as accurate as possible to the materials, shapes, and details supported by existing research.

We recreated many of the jewellery pieces and bread stamps discovered in the village, drawing inspiration directly from archaeological findings. From shell bracelets and beads to carved ceremonial objects, these small details helped us bring more depth and authenticity to the world of the settlement. They also reveal how decoration, symbolism, and craft were already an important part of everyday Neolithic life.
